Dance Instructor

At Academy for the Performing Arts, our instructors do more than teach dance, they inspire confidence, creativity, discipline, and a love for the performing arts in every student who walks through our doors.

We are looking for passionate, positive, and reliable dance instructors who love working with children and want to make a lasting impact in a supportive, team-oriented environment. Whether teaching recreational dancers or more advanced students, our instructors create engaging classes that help students grow both technically and personally.

Responsibilities

  • Teach weekly dance classes in a positive and encouraging environment
  • Create age-appropriate and engaging lesson plans
  • Foster confidence, teamwork, discipline, and creativity in students
  • Communicate professionally with staff, students, and families
  • Assist with performances, showcases, and studio events
  • Arrive prepared, organized, and on time for all classes and rehearsals
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere

Qualifications

  • Dance training and/or teaching experience preferred
  • Experience working with children is a plus
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring young dancers
  • Ability to teach multiple styles is a bonus

Theatre Instructor

At Academy for the Performing Arts, our theatre instructors help students build confidence, creativity, stage presence, and a love for performance both on and off the stage.

We are looking for energetic, passionate, and dependable theatre instructors who enjoy working with children and creating a fun, supportive learning environment. Our instructors play an important role in helping students grow as performers while encouraging teamwork, self-expression, and confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Teach weekly theatre classes and run rehearsals
  • Create engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
  • Help students develop performance, and stage skills
  • Foster creativity, confidence, collaboration, and professionalism
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families
  • Assist with productions, showcases, and performances
  • Maintain a positive, organized, and inclusive classroom environment

Qualifications

  • Theatre, acting, music, bakcstage tech or performance experience required
  • Experience working with children is a plus
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring young performers
  • Experience with directing, choreographing or musical direction is a bonus

Β Preschool for the Arts Teacher

At Academy for the Performing Arts, our Preschool for the Arts program combines early childhood education with creativity, movement, music, and hands-on learning to help young children thrive in a fun and nurturing environment.

We are looking for caring, energetic, and dependable teachers who are passionate about working with young children and helping them build confidence, independence, and a love for learning. Our Preschool for the Arts teachers create engaging experiences that support social, emotional, cognitive, and creative development in every child.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist in daily preschool classroom activities
  • Create engaging, age-appropriate lessons and learning experiences
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and positive classroom environment
  • Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth
  • Incorporate creativity, movement, music, and arts into daily learning
  • Communicate professionally with families and staff
  • Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety
  • Work collaboratively with the preschool team and administration

Qualifications

  • Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
  • Background in early childhood education is a plus
  • Passion for working with young children in a creative environment
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Patient, reliable, positive, and team-oriented
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
