APA Community Performance Groups!

If you love to dance and perform but are not interested in the time or financial commitment of “Company”, then our Community Performance Groups are for you! If you are interested in giving back to your community and doing charitable service for your neighbors, then this is for you! Even if you just want the opportunity to be on stage more times throughout the year instead of just at the recital, then this is for you!

We have THREE different options for Performance Group at APA – Jazz Ensemble, Hip Hop Crew, & our ALL NEW VOCAL SHOW CHOIR! All APA dancers in 1st-12th grade are eligible to join – there is no audition necessary. We are so excited for our NINTH season of our Community Performance Groups at APA! 

These students practice multiple routines to perform throughout the year at local, community events. They participate in both the Apex and Cary Christmas parades, local arts festivals, retirement homes, charity events, malls, and school fairs.

INTEREST MEETINGS

JAZZ ENSEMBLE

Dancers in 1st-12th grade who are currently enrolled in classes are invited to join in on the fun of our newly renamed Jazz Ensemble – no audition necessary. All group routines will be based in Jazz & Musical Theatre and will perform locally throughout our community approximately once per month. All Jazz Ensemble members must enroll in a Jazz class. The fees involved are nominal (less than $300 for the season).

HIP HOP CREW

Have you heard about our super fun Hip Hop Crew at APA?! All 1st-12th graders currently enrolled at APA are invited to join in the fun – no audition necessary. All group routines will be based in Hip Hop and will perform locally throughout our community approximately once per month. All Hip Hop Crew members must enroll in a Hip Hop class. The fees involved are nominal (less than $300 for the season).

SHOW CHOIR

NEW FOR THE 23-24 SEASON! It’s Showtime! Show Choir time that is! Students will combine singing and choreography to tell a story through songs of various genres such as contemporary pop, musical theater and more! We will discuss vocal technique like breathing, posture, and diction and will gain confidence in performing both medias at the same time! The Choir will perform a concert at the end of our session.

All 2nd-12th graders currently enrolled at APA are invited to join in the fun – no audition necessary. Our Show Choir groups will perform locally throughout our community approximately once per month. All Show Choir members must enroll in a Voice class at APA. The fees involved are nominal (less than $300 for the season).
